Art and Sketches

Another part of the reason I started this blog was to get myself drawing more. In recent years(about the past two) I haven't been drawing enough. So one of the topics I thought would be fun is a weekly, or bi weekly sketch. Nothing to fancy just some quick ideas. Here's the first couple with more to come.

you are so freaking talented man! Seriously.

So I notice the tikki god statue (sorry if that's not the right way to describe it) in a lot of your work...I am curious about the significance?

I know you love surfing etc...but any other specifics behind that guy?

The tiki is just something thats always kinda been around that I like to draw. Don't really know what it means(or if there is a meaning) but I've always been drawn to them(pun intended, que drums). I think a big part of it is that tikis always seem to be around in tropical, sunny locations with waves. They kinda represent that in a way. You could be in the middle of the desert, see a tiki, and the first thing I'd think of would be the ocean. That and given the fact that I can't always get to these places, at least my mind can go. So I just draw where my mind goes. They just kinda show up.

Thanks for the kind words!!!
